MAMA (AND BABY) | KANGASKHAN
Level: 75
Gender: Female
Nature: Gentle, proud of its power.
Moves: Flamethrower, Thunder Punch, Iron Tail, Comet Punch, Leer, Fake Out, Tail Whip, Bite, Double Hit, Rage, Mega Punch, Chip Away, Dizzy Punch, Crunch, Endure, Outrage, Sucker Punch, Reversal
Type: Normal
Ability: Scrappy (Allows the Pokémon to hit Ghost-type Pokémon with Normal-type and Fighting-type moves.)
One of the two (or technically THREE, when you get right down to it) Pokemon that Wrath started his journey with, Mama accordingly takes on the role of mother for the entire time. Already with a baby of her own, she showed no hesitation in taking Wrath under her wing as well. And thanks to the fact that she could probably crush his skull with one enormous hand, his only sensible option was to reject his usual reaction to squalling infants and accept that Baby Comes First*.
Being a very good mother, Mama usually resolves any tearworthy issue fairly fast, so wins all around. Wrath's other Pokemon typically defer to her good judgment and wisdom and frequently come to her for help with any problems they can't figure out how to deal with on their own. A long-time Rocket Pokemon, she is incredibly loyal to the Team and loves helping other, younger Pokemon become useful, productive team-members! Not that she's not willing to step in with BRUTAL FORCE if something should ever threaten her family-- she's all about that.
However, as great a mom and mentor as she is, Mama encounters a fairly big stumbling block in the form of Wrath being... well, Wrath. She's used to raising Pokemon, not humans! Human children are perplexing. She's confident that she's doing her best, but that doesn't change the fact that Wrath is frequently being sent out the door with his clothes on inside-out and a sack-lunch of kibble instead of People Food.
*Of course, Baby is officially the only exception to this rule. Do not allow Wrath around other crying babies. Do not.
PIPSQUEAK | ZUBAT
Level: 21
Gender: Male
Nature: Hasty, alert to sounds.
Moves: Leech Life, Supersonic, Astonish, Bite, Wing Attack, Confuse Ray, Swift, Air Cutter,
Acrobatics, Mean Look, Poison Fang, Haze, Air Slash.Type: Poison/Flying
Ability: Infiltrator (The protections and stat boosts caused by the moves Substitute, Reflect, Light Screen and Safeguard by the opponent are ignored..)
Prepare
for troubleto experience tinnitus in your ears for a week or so, because that's probably the worst this bat can do to you outside of getting stuck in your hair.Pipsqueak was Wrath's second Rocket starter, a much younger and more naiive Pokemon than Mama. Earnest and determined, the Zubat puts his all into everything he does, dreaming of the day when he'll be a big strong Crobat. Unfortunately for him, he was blessed with what might possibly be the worst stats possible for a Pokemon of his species, and winning a battle on his own is, at least for the time being, nigh-impossible. Still, he tries his hardest anyway. No one can say the plucky little guy doesn't have guts.
He has a particularly strong bond with Wrath, and due to his small size, tends to accompany him in most places even where Mama cannot. It's not unusual to find the little bat clinging to the back of Wrath's shirt or hanging in his hair.
STINKY PHIL | RATTATA
Level: 19
Gender: Male
Nature: Lax, thoroughly cunning.
Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Focus Energy, Bite, Pursuit, Hyper Fang, Sucker Punch,
Crunch, Assurance, Super Fang, Double-Edge, Endeavor.Type: Normal
Ability: Guts (Attack is increased by 50% when induced with a status (BURN, PARALYZE, SLEEP, POISON, FREEZE). Burn’s effect of lowering Attack is not applied.)
For ten long years, Stinky Phil reigned supreme in the kitchen of Team Rocket's Goldenrod HQ. No Grunt could catch him. No trap could hold him. Guard-Houndours quivered before him! ... And then Wrath happened.
Morbidly obese, mangy, and with a personality that can only be described as 'dour', Stinky Phil is probably the most unpleasant Pokemon on Wrath's team. When said team includes a mobile, animated sack of garbage, that's saying a lot.
Having once been the uncatchable plague of the Goldenrod Rocket HQ, Phil is none too happy about having been caught, but on the other hand, it means getting FED meals instead of having to waddle out of sight every time someone walks into the kitchen. He doesn't even bother to disguise his disdain for the rest of the team, nor they him-- possibly the only team-member who spends time with Phil on purpose is Hungry, and that's mainly because Hungry loves everybody and probably doesn't have an actual sense of smell.
HUNGRY | TRUBBISH
Level: 31
Gender: Male
Nature: Jolly, somewhat stubborn.
Moves: Seed Bomb, Drain Punch, Pound, Poison Gas, Recycle, Toxic Spikes, Acid Spray, Double Slap, Sludge, Stockpile, Swallow, Take Down, Sludge Bomb,
Clear Smog, Toxic, Amnesia, Belch, Gunk Shot, Explosion.Type: Poison
Ability: Sticky Hold (This Pokémon’s item cannot be taken.)
Being rather amiable and affectionate for a walking bag of trash, Hungry likes oranges, bright colors, and luckily for precisely nobody, warm hugs.
Hungry and Wrath met when Wrath made the mistake of cutting through one of Goldenrod's many junkyards while being in the possession of a bag of food, and putting said bag of food down, unattended, for like .5 seconds. Overcome with delight at being offered such a generous present, the then-wild Hungry promptly accepted the gift and took Wrath's screeches of outrage as some kind of bizarre human expression of happiness at the successful establishment of friendship. The rest of the day was spent with Hungry attempting to deliver a hug and Wrath attempting to AVOID SAID HUG AT ALL COSTS. Like all wacky chase scenes, it eventually ended with Wrath losing his balance and plunging into a canal, which Hungry managed to haul him out of. Having overcome their differences, Wrath and Hungry became Friends Through Adversity (tm) and returned to the base together.
Now happily caught, Hungry spends much of his time putting things in his mouth that probably shouldn't go into mouths, and attempting to make new friends.
Some attempts are more successful than others. But not many.
MAD | DEINO
Level: 42
Gender: Female
Nature: Adamant, quick-tempered.
Moves: Flamethrower, Zen Headbutt, Uproar, Tackle, Dragon Rage, Focus Energy, Bite, Headbutt, Dragon Breath, Roar, Crunch, Slam, Dragon Pulse, Work Up, Dragon Rush,
Body Slam, Scary Face, Hyper Voice, Outrage.Type: Dark/Dragon
Ability: Hustle (Damage from physical attacks is increased by 50%, but average accuracy is only 80%.)
Wrath's first Christmas in Johto was truly magical. What other word could there be for being presented with what seems to be a large rock that then turns into a sparkling animal? NOT MANY.
Mad made her debut into the world by emerging from her egg and almost immediately taking a chomp out of Wrath's hand and engaging in a ferocious battle with several articles of his clothing, something that Wrath found utterly endearing. So small, so violent! Too pure for this world. What an excellent green child!
Wrath is very proud of his angry dragon daughter.
SLEEPY | VAPOREON
Level: 56
Gender: Female
Nature: Relaxed, takes plenty of siestas.
Moves: Rest, Signal Beam, Icy Wind, Snore, Heal Bell, Helping Hand, Tackle, Tail Whip, Sand Attack, Water Gun, Quick Attack, Water Pulse, Aurora Beam, Aqua Ring, Acid Armor, Haze, Muddy Water, Last Resort, Hydro Pump.
Type: Water
Ability: Water Absorb (The Pokémon heals up to 1/4 of its maximum Hit Points when hit with Water-type moves.)
In a world where most kids are expected to hit the road and train wild animals for fame and fortune at the age of ten, not EVERYBODY can become a Pokemon master. Sleepy the Vaporeon belonged to one such Poke-school dropout, a trainer who spent a few years on the road half-assedly training and then decided he'd rather just settle down and get a job. You know, like a deadbeat waste of space. UGH.
Delegated to a cruddy doghouse in the backyard for the rest of her foreseeable future, Sleepy spent most of her time napping in the grass. That is, until a passing
Rocketgood samaritan took pity on her and. Uh. ... Liberated her. Let's just go with that.Wrath is pretty sure it's not possible to be more beautiful than Sleepy the Vaporeon. Her tiny legs and tendency to turn into a literal puddle in the middle of cuddling only make her cuter!
Sleepy couldn't care less that she was technically stolen, she's just happy that someone is petting her and telling her what a good Pokemon she is again.
JELLY | DITTO
Level: 25
Gender: N/A
Nature: Sassy, mischievous.
Moves: Transform
Type: Normal
Ability: Limber ( The Pokémon cannot be under the PARALYZE condition while having this ability.)
Jelly's claim to fame is having a name that happens to be the greatest pun known to man. Or at least to Wrath.
After having been advised to catch an Abra to help him Teleport out of sticky situations, Wrath proudly returned from a sojourn to Route 35 to present his findings to his superiors. Only to find that what was in the ball was... not an Abra. Never one to let such unexpected surprises to get him down, it took about three seconds for Wrath to think of a use for the gelatinous shapeshifter. Did you know that 'jelly' means both 'gooey fruit preserves' and 'envy'? WRATH DIDN'T. But now he does, and he thinks it's great.
Personality-wise, Jelly is a real crowd-pleaser. Always up for a spell in the spotlight, he constantly tries to learn new tricks to get peoples' attention with. And is not necessarily above rolling into conversations that have nothing to do with him and rapidly turning into things until someone notices.
Tends to get morose and droopy when not validated for more than a few hours.
DIRTY | LOPUNNY
Level: 68
Gender: Female
Nature: Serious, very finicky.
Moves: Frustration, Return, Cut, Attract, Double Team, Covet, Ice Punch, Healing Wish, Bounce, Rototiller, Mirror Coat, Magic Coat, Defense Curl, Splash, Pound, Foresight, Endure, Quick Attack, Jump Kick, Baton Pass, Agility, Dizzy Punch, After You, Charm, Entrainment.
Type: Normal
Ability: Cute Charm (The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with Attract when using an attack, that requires physical contact, against this Pokémon.)
Unlike Wrath's first stolen Pokemon, Sleepy, Dirty was some rich socialite's pampered battle princess and is absolutely disgusted to now be in the care of a filthy little ragamuffin like Wrath.
That's not to say she was particularly happy with her previous trainer, though-- while still spoiled rotten compared to most Pokemon, at some point said trainer had decided the move 'Frustration' looked a lot ~cooler~ in battle than 'Return' and promptly switched tactics when it came to raising the Lopunny.
She may hate Wrath and his motley crew, but she's in no hurry to go back to having her ears pulled on and fed bitter medicine all the time.
TRUCK | GRANBULL
Level: 70
Gender: Male
Nature: Lax, loves to eat.
Moves: Flamethrower, Thunder Fang, Hyper Voice, Shockwave, Bite, Lick, Headbutt, Roar, Rage, Play Rough, Payback, Crunch, Outrage.
Type: Fairy
Ability: Intimidate (Upon entering battle, the opponent’s Attack lowers one stage.)
In the same raid that landed Wrath with Dirty, he acquired another Pokemon... totally by accident.
After bribing the building's guard-dog to stay quiet while he and Ralph got in, Wrath found himself with an unexpected stalker. Eager to see what other treats he could score, Truck followed them all the way back to the Rocket base... and then just wound up staying. Wrath is a kid with a knack for finding interesting food and for sharing it, so it was kind of a no-brainer!
Personality-wise, Truck is friendly and easy-going. It's safe to say that his main function as a guard dog was to frighten burglars off before they actually tried to interact with him and found out he was a big ol' puppydog. In stark contrast to Dirty, Truck thinks running with Wrath's gang is a lot more exciting than his old job, and he happily allows his new trainer to ride him around and wrestle regularly.
BLACKOUT | MURKROW
Level: 35
Gender: Male
Nature: Bold, highly curious.
Moves: Icy Wind, Heat Wave, Twister, Peck, Astonish, Pursuit, Haze, Wing Attack, Night Shade, Assurance, Feint Attack,
Mean Look, Foul Play, Tailwind, Sucker Punch, Torment, Quash.Type: Dark/Flying
Ability: Insomnia (The Pokémon cannot be put to Sleep while having this ability.)
When two birds love each other very much... nature dictates that eggs happen.
When two birds belonging to two people who happen to be enemies love each other very much... dramatic irony dictates that lots of eggs happen.
When Walter Sullivan's Darkness fell in love with Envy's Lyra, they were blessed with a veritable flock of loud, frighteningly intelligent baby crows, and the need to find homes for them.
Walter took Wrath aside one day and presented him with his choice of several young Murkrows. He picked the one that hopped right up to him and started fighting with his pant leg, because of course he did.
SKIN | MIMIKYU
Level: 21
Gender: Female
Nature: Quiet, hates to lose.
Moves: Wood Hammer, Splash, Scratch, Astonish, Copycat, Double-Team, Babydoll Eyes, Shadow Sneak, Mimic,
Feint Attack, Charm, Slash, Shadow Claw, Hone Claws, Play Rough, Pain Split.Type: Fairy/Ghost
Ability: Disguise (Once per battle, the Pokémon can withstand one damaging attack without receiving any damage.)
What is there to say about Skin?
Skin is the thing you think you see at the top of the stairs just as you're closing the bedroom door behind you after you turn the hallway lights out.
Skin is the thing that is suddenly on the couch arm next to you when she wasn't there two seconds ago.
Skin is the reason that the house's several Pikachus keep finding shards of plastic and glass in their food.
Skin is awful.
Wrath loves her.
SLIME | DRATINI
Level: 30
Gender: Female
Nature: Naughty, thoroughly cunning.
Moves: Brutal Swing, Flamethrower,
Wrap, Leer, Thunder Wave, Twister, Dragon Rage, Slam, Agility,
Dragon Tail, Aqua Tail, Dragon Rush, Safeguard,Dragon Dance, Outrage, Hyper Beam.
Type: Dragon
Ability: Shed Skin (Every turn, it has a 1 in 3 chance of healing from a status condition.)
Wrath received this spectacular Rocket Game Corner Dratini as a reward for his efforts in the ill-fated Rocket Prom. Of course, a Rocket-issued Pokemon means one thing... team spirit.
Unlike Mama, who is a much more hands-on, teamwork-oriented Rocket Pokemon, Slime represents the more cunning side of the organization. Silver-tongued and manipulative, this adorable little wyrm knows exactly how to play others off of each other. The brain to Mama's brawn, if you were. That said, they don't particularly get along. Mama's down-to-earth values clash with the Dratini's rather snooty personality.
Slime isn't much one for team-work unless she gets to be the one calling all the shots. While she is, incidentally, rather good at slithering her way into being in charge without anybody realizing what she's up to until it's too late, god forbid she doesn't get her way, because the only thing that can follow is a tantrum of epic proportions.
AVARI | ZOROARK
Level: 100
Gender: Female
Nature: Relaxed, capable of taking hits.
Moves: Flamethrower, Bounce, Trick, Throat Chop, Night Slash, Night Daze, Imprison, U-Turn, Scratch, Leer, Pursuit, Hone Claws, Fury Swipes, Feint Attack, Scary Face, Taunt, Foul Play, Torment, Agility, Embargo, Punishment, Nasty Plot, Imprison, Night Daze.
Type: Dark
Ability: Illusion (When sent out into battle, it takes the name and appearance of the last non-fainted Pokémon within your party. It breaks when an attack does damage on the Pokémon but not from Weather Effects or Entry Hazards.)
When Wrath first came to Johto, everything was different. Former allies were now enemies, and he was all alone and struggling to find his place in a new team.
His first true mission was one of mixed success-- pickpocketing partygoers at a fancy Lumiose City shindig.
But while his meager results sure didn't earn him any promotions, they did result in him meeting one generous circus Ringmaster who immediately and with only one condition ('Don't bring your 'work' home with you') took him under his wing as a brother.
From that day forward, Wrath considered Joker family-- even moreso than his Homunculus siblings, with whom he eventually worked things out.
Joker's departure from Johto was a crushing blow to all of them, Wrath especially-- but fortunately, Joker's Pokemon remained, and one in particular took it unto herself to keep an eye on her former trainer's "little brother" personally.
Avari is calm and laid-back-- cool but not egotistical. She enjoys a good time as much as anyone, but is most at home keeping an eye on things from the sidelines. Occasionally she takes the form of a young human woman, but seems to prefer living life without illusions when possible. Being Lvl. 100, she's a strong battler when she chooses to, but Wrath holds little to no true command over her on account of having never set foot in a Gym in his got damn life. Big Sis will look out for Little Bro, but he's sure not her boss.
WOO | POOCHYENA
Level: 13
Gender: Male
Nature: Hasty, alert to sounds.
Moves: Tackle, Howl, Sand Attack, Bite
Odor Sleuth, Roar, Swagger, Assurance, Scary Face, Taunt, Embargo, Take Down, Sucker Punch, Crunch.Type: Dark
Ability: Quick Feet (Speed is increased by 50% when induced with a status effect)
TBA
KNIFE | AXEW
Level: 3
Gender: Male
Nature: Careful, quick to flee.
Moves: Scratch,
Leer, Assurance, Dragon Rage, Dual Chop, Scary Face, Slash, False Swipe, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Taunt, Dragon Pulse, Swords Dance, Guillotine, Outrage, Giga ImpactType: Dragon
Ability: Mold Breaker (The Pokémon's moves are not affected by foe’s abilities during battle.)
TBA
SON | CUBONE
Level: 5
Gender: Male
Nature: Hardy, good perseverence.
Moves: Mud Slap, Growl, Tail Whip,
False Swipe, Headbutt, Retaliate, Fling, Stomping Tantrum, Bone Rush, Focus Energy, Endeavor, Bonemerang, Thrash, Double EdgeType: Ground
Ability: Rock Head (Does not receive recoil damage from recoil-causing moves)
When Wrath returned to the world of Pokemon, he woke up in a little house in New Bark Town instead of a shady office building in Goldenrod, and his companion was not a patient and matronly Kangaskhan and her baby but a wide-eyed little lizard with a skull helmet and a club.
Despite being inundated with memories of Johto and frustration at his suicide mission for (seemingly) failing, Wrath was not about to take any of his complicated feelings out on an innocent little guy who was experiencing this all for the first time. In fact, when he looked up 'Cubone' in his PokeDex and discovered that his new partner also had another very significant thing in common with him, his feelings of responsibility solidified into unbreakable determination.
This was his son now.
He, Wrath, worldworn and disillusioned and definitely not a child himself anymore, would be Son's father.
As for Son himself...
Having spent most of his life in Elm's lab, the little Cubone is bright and bookish, with a good grasp of common technology on account of frequently charming the lab assistants into letting him play with their PokeGears (an iPad baby? Maybe a little). He was very excited to be assigned to his very first trainer, and Wrath... admittedly is a little different than he'd been expecting. Although not frightened of the boy, Son is frequently... concerned, and is taking this whole thing one day at a time.
BULLET | ROOKIDEE
Level: 3
Gender: Female
Nature: Brave, sturdy body.
Moves: Leer, Peck,
Power Trip, Hone Claws, Fury Attack, Pluck, Taunt, Scary Face, Drill Peck, Swagger, Brave BirdType: Ground
Ability: Keen Eye (Opponent cannot lower this Pokémon's accuracy. The Pokémon ignores evasion boosts of the opponent)
Caught out of sheer necessity after a glitch in the Silph Co. box system resulted in Son's Pokeball being replaced with that of a very frightened Froslass who wanted absolutely nothing to do with the wild, emotionally-unstable yelling boy who she wound up with.
Bullet got her name from the fact that she kept divebombing someone's skylight and stunning herself on the glass, which in her defense, just looked like a portal to more sky.
She is exuberant and hotheaded, but, well, not the brightest.
