[Al's grin spreads when Wrath pops up on the Gear. Oh man, he is gonna get a kick out of this!]

[He flips it around, showing Wrath the weird, slimy thing sitting on some rice and seaweed on his plate.] They called it 'Oo-nee'.

[It's worth noting here that Wrath's threshold for food-related disgust is... very, very high. He eats things off the ground on a regular basis. He has put a number of objects in his mouth that are not actually edible and swallowed them.]

[But sure as he knows that the sky is blue, he can say one thing for sure upon looking at... that.]</sub>

[Again the camera flips, and Al shakes his head.]

No, it is, really! It's part of a really weird fish, they said it's supposed to be very sweet!

[Al swallows the rest of it down and chugs down about half of his glass of water, then shakes his head. UGH.] Oh man, I'm not doing that ever again.

[He doesn't actually sound annoyed, more amused than anything else.]

If it's been on the ground and walked all over, you don't know what all has happened to it. People don't pay much attention to what they walk on, and if they stepped on something super gross before they stepped on the food, there might still be residue of the gross thing on their shoe.

That's because you walk around barefoot. If you have shoes on, you don't have to worry about stepping on most things, because you have that layer of protection between something hot or cold or sharp and your foot. So people's attention is called elsewhere, and they don't think about it.

Everyone should pay attention to the ground.

They're missing out.

But they have a lot to pay attention to around them, as well! You can't pay attention to everything all at once, you'd wind up missing things that way.

I think that if I can't eat things off the ground, that's a lot of good things being wasted.
