"... So I just talk? I start talking? .... Now? ... What's the light mean? ... Oh! HI, I'M WRATH, THIS IS MY MAIL VOICE, PLEASE LEAVE A--" BEEP.
[OOC: Want to thread with me but don't have a current post to do it on? Wanna send Wrath a private message? Wanna prank-call him in the middle of the night and then instantly regret it as he dials you back over and over and yells "Hello? HELLO?" into the mic? Pop a thread on here with the IC date and time and let's get playing!]
March, Goldenrod Rocket Base, afternoon
After turning in his quota of nabbed purse Pokemon for the day, Ralph made his way back through the base hallways feeling like something was off. His shirt was on right-side out. He'd brushed his teeth that morning. He'd locked up before leaving his dorm. What could it be?
It was when he entered the Rocket cafeteria and spotted the droopy little mop at the far end of the table with an uneaten pudding cup at his elbow that it registered. There'd been no barrage of questions when he set foot inside the base. No weird drawings or 'gear messages needing translation were shoved into his face. Huh.
Slowly Ralph sidled over to where Wrath sat, brows knitted in something like concern. Was he sick?
"Hey, kid...what's eatin' ya?"
no subject
Wrath tilts his head where it sits on the edge of the table so that his hair falls away from his face enough to peer up at Ralph with one eye. His mouth is tugged down in a morose little frown. He has no reason to keep his feelings on the matter hidden-- he doesn't even know the meaning of the word of discretion. When the Homunculus Wrath is upset, everyone gets to know why.
"Lust and Alphonse are away and I'm sad. Alphonse was going to show me how to ride a bi-cycle but then he left."
no subject
"Aw,squirt, I'm sorry..."
He had been wondering why Lust wasn't showing up at the gym. He didn't know this Alphonse too well and he had a terrible growing feeling in the pit of his stomach. His hand started to reach for his gear...but stopped. Instead, he rested an elbow on the table.
"How long have they been gone?"
no subject
The little boy sits up a bit and sighs, counting quietly on his fingers.
"... At least five days."
A few people had told him Al was gone for good-- he didn't believe it. The older boy had already established a tendency to sometimes leave for extended periods of time without saying anything and Wrath just knew that was what had happened this time.
As for Lust, she left sometimes too, to go to her little Violet City getaway, and didn't like to be bothered in that time.
But he was still upset.

"Well...I may not be an expert, but if they don't show up soon, I could show you how to ride a bike."
no subject
It doesn't change the real underlying issue, of course, but Wrath is at the very least easily distracted.
"Really? You'd do that? For me?"
no subject
That he had never actually done.
They don't make bikes that are Ralph-sized.
"Course! We're teammates after all!"
no subject
You tried and now you're paying for it.
Looking quite a bit less droopy than he had a moment ago, Wrath turns in his seat to face Ralph, positively lit up.
"Thank you! Thank you, Ralph! You are--"
A pause, as he's clearly thinking.
"... a medium-temperature cat!"
no subject
"Right back at ya."
